Android Market Now In More Countries

A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about Canada finally receiving paid apps. It now seems that Google increased the number of countries that can access the Android Market, almost doubling it. Expect the number of countries with access to increase fairly soon, as Google is "working hard to add more countries, so please stay tuned."

The number of countries with access to the Android Market has increased from 25 nations to a total of 46. Paid apps are available in 13 countries. Androinica had this to say about the ratio of countries that can buy and sell apps: "Surprisingly, Google still hasn’t expanded the list of countries permitted to sell apps (9) to match the number of countries able to purchase them (13)."

Paid apps countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Free app countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
