[Hands-On Video] iPhone 4S vs. Galaxy Nexus in Camera Speed Test

One of the Galaxy Nexus's claims to fame is its fast shutter reaction times, allowing users to take multiple photos in rapid succession. It may seem a minor feature in the grand scheme of things, but since smartphones have replaced cameras as many folks' primary photo-taking device, megapixels, light sensors and shutter speeds have all come under greater scrutiny. After all, as they say, the best camera is the one that's with you. So, how does the Galaxy Nexus camera stack up to the iPhone 4S? Which is the best camera phone on the market?

Well, it initially appears that – at least in the shutter speed category – the Galaxy Nexus blows away the competition. In this short hands-on video, you can see how quickly the Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S are able to take photos. While a simple press of a blue button allows the Nexus to snap a photo, iPhone's operating system seems to delay the process by animating an image of the picture being stored to the phone. As a result, it appears to take about a second less to take photos.

However, looks can be deceiving.

If you watch close, it appears the videographer actually took 6 photos with the iPhone 4S and 5 photos with the Galaxy Nexus, which is why the former phone took a tad longer to finish taking photos.

Now, we're all Android fanboys here, but we won't tolerate cheating! Android should win fair and square. What do you say? Was this a rigged competition or did Android truly win?
