Get the Pocophone in the US (or anywhere) for $349
Xiaomi's new Pocophone F1 is one of the most interesting smartphones out today, with an amazing price/performance ratio and the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC. While not the most fashionable phone out there, the device matches flagship killers like the OnePlus 6 on paper, while managing to be even cheaper. Of course, OnePlus has the advantage of being sold in the US, but you can get the Pocophone F1 for under $350...wherever you live.
Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 is officially only available in a few select markets in Asia (India, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Indonesia) and only two European countries (France and Italy). If you don't live in this areas (or can't easily get to them) you don't have to miss out, however.

This article is pointless if you are recommending a phone purchase to people even though it won't work properly. As far as I can tell from my research the Pocophone is not compatible with cell service in the US even though you specifically mention purchasing this phone if you live in the US. The Pocophone has the same band compatibility as most Xiaomi Redmi phones so if anybody in the US actually spends their money on this they will only get 3G or 2G service depending on their carrier. If a Poco F1 comes out with wider band compatibility that would be good to know but you guys never write about stuff like that--you're all hype and almost zero useful information.

We'll see where this goes. I'm glad to see competition at the level of simple functionality versus at the level of bling. A Timex wristwatch has the same capabilities at $20 as a Rolex wristwatch at $20k, which is not to discount the social value of the latter where it matters. As we reach the technical peak of simple functionality with phones, there will always be a prestige hierarchy that many will pay to climb anyway. At the same time, the main thing preventing a serious five-digit dollars jewelry phone is software - few would consider a smartphone as an heirloom for grandchildren.
If have to research band compatibility. Your really need to include the bands these phones operate
Hmm not everywhere as you said because that will add another 100$ of taxes (North Africa), so that price isn't going to get me a Pocophone F1.
