The P20 Pro and Galaxy S9 will watch the final from home

The P20 Pro and Galaxy S9 will watch the final from home

Finally, we know which two smartphones will go up against each other for the title of the best smartphone camera! The two semi-finals showed different results: one was clear, the other was incredibly close. The finale will be a real thriller!

Our search for the best smartphone camera is heading for the final, and the two opponents have to give their all in a wide range of scenarios. Of course, whichever does best takes the crown.

For those who have only just joined us for the Smartphone World Cup near the end, here's a quick explanation of how each match works: In each duel, the two smartphones take three photos to demonstrate their photography prowess and AndroidPIT readers choose their favorite in an objective blind test. The percentages are then added to the overall score, and the one with the most wins.

Match 1: Huawei P20 Pro vs Google Pixel 2

Winner: Google Pixel 2 with 197:110 points

The triumphant advance of the Pixel 2 continues, while the Huawei P20 Pro has to cross out its title dreams. This was not necessarily to be expected, but the sheer number of cameras doesn't guarantee victory. The winner was clear on all three pictures, and only once did the P20 Pro manage to excite you more than the Pixel 2, with the artificial light shot vote of 70:30 in favor of Huawei. The Pixel 2 snapped the better selfie with 77 percent of the vote, and in the close-up, the Google smartphone was even further ahead with 90:10 percent. After defeating the HTC U12+ and the OnePlus 6, the Pixel 2 has now also put the Huawei P20 Pro in its place, clearly. The Pixel 2 wins by a mile!

Match 2: Apple iPhone X vs Samsung Galaxy S9

Winner: Apple iPhone X with 152:148 points

In the second semifinal, the iPhone X and the Galaxy S9 go head-to-head, and boy, it was a close one! In the end, the Apple smartphone has prevailed with a wafer-thin lead of just four points against the Samsung flagship. Exciting results: Two pictures showed an extremely clear winner, namely the selfie shot (81:19 percent for Apple) and the artificial light shot in the underground car park (85:15 percent for Samsung). The deciding shot was a close one, and the iPhone X came out with 56:44 percent ahead. Despite the opening defeat against the Huawei P20 Pro, the only non-Android smartphone has made it to the final. Congratulations, iPhone X!
