Nokia 8 price, release date, specs and rumors
HMD Global has finally let the cat out of the bag. The high-end Nokia 8 is here, riding high on its storied brand name and top of the line specs. It's ready to take on the competition.
When Nokia decided to join the Android gang, it didn't do things half-heartedly. In a relatively short amount of time, it has launched quite a number of entry level and mid-range devices. Now, we're finally getting to see a more premium offering in the Nokia 8. It's on the top shelf thanks to a QHD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The device is 7.3 mm thick, and its classic shape is made of milled aluminum. The wide bezels above and below the display may not look so modern next to the top flagships of the moment, but they don't get in the way either. It packs a standard 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM.
Carl Zeiss is back, bringing a special edge to the 13 MP dual camera with one color and one monochrome sensor. It has an f / 2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization. It has a dual video feature which allows you to shoot with both the front and rear cameras at the same time for dual livestreams. It includes three microphones and OZO audio for 360 degree sound recording.
Nokia 8: pure Android, regular updates
HMD Global is releasing the Nokia 8 with Android 7.1.1 - pure Android - with monthly security updates. The battery will have a 3,090 mAh capacity and the device weighs just 160 grams. In addition, it will be protected against splashes of water with an IP54 certification.
And the price? It will be comparatively low for a smartphone of its class. It's launching in Europe for 599 EUR. We'll be preparing a hands-on review as soon as we receive the test device this week - so keep your eyes peeled!

Glad to see Nokia coming back to business finally. They should have gone with Android in the first place,instead they chose Windows and lost a hell lot of customers and reputation too

HMD as just announce that another Premium phone with Larger screen on the way,Nokia 8 is not offering outstanding features to compete with the Others,so HMD will have to wait and see,if the Nokia 8 sales will be successful,but if someone wants a Dual Camera phone at affordable price the Nokia 8 might gain some consumers
I think if Nokia had one of their premium releases with a removable battery, wow now that LG put it to sleep. Maybe many consumers would give it a look see! Ya never know!
By the time Nokia 3, 5 and 6 launched in the market, the specs of the devices were dated by at least 6-10 months and spending that much amount for was not a good idea. I hope they launch their phones in the market within 1 or 2 weeks of official reveal.
Nokia could end up gaining Galaxy phones users if the Nokia 8 offers the F.M.Radio,as Samsung as stopped offering this on the Premium phones

if Nokia & HMd can really convince me they are really back competiting,and offer better specs and camera on the Nokia 8,it will make switch back to Nokia again,as Nokia seem to be alot better with software updates than Samsung,will like to see the price difference between the Nokia 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 models
So glad Nokia was returning to compete again in the mobile market,but HMD better speed up the release of there phones or Nokia will be struggling again,Nokia always produced good camera phones,but the screen size of the Nokia 8 might be a little smaller than the others,but we might get the Nokia 9 later in the year with a larger screen,we will dying to read any review of the Nokia 8 to see if it can really compete in the premium phone market,hope it does,as the old N8 or N82 were brilliant symbian phones i still have now,because the N82 offered xenon flash that nobody offers now days,an amazing photos in dark areas
Nokia was my first cell phone was back in 1995. Wow, life was a lot different for phones back in the dinosaur days! Happy to see them back. I hope they have much success with their new offerings!
Design looks a little dated but priced accordingly, flagship specs and stock android, perfect replacement for Nexus..
Looking forward to seeing this phone. I only hope that they are able to improve their distribution and availability of it vs the many months that it took to have ready availability of the 3,5,&6.

Looks like the end of an era with removable batteries. I think LG should have kept it with the V30 but it doesn't look that way. It was a premium feature that bit the dust. It's a sad story, many consumer's loved it!
