OnePlus 3 & 3T Open Beta update
The latest Open Beta for the OnePlus 3 and 3T brings Face Unlock, which has been a highly requested feature since the OnePlus 5 received it via beta update last year. OnePlus has delivered on its promise, and now Open Beta 30 (for the OnePlus 3) and Open Beta 21 (for the OnePlus 3T) are available, featuring Face Unlock and a host of other improvements which are listed below.

- You can see new categories when using the search icon in the drawer
- Auto folder tagging
- When you add applications that are similar, our system will help you automatically name the new folder you created

- The Blue notification dots present to notify you of a newly installed app will now be removed automatically after 15 days

- We’ve added the new OnePlus switch app so moving your information to a new OnePlus device will be easier than ever

Known issues:
- Airtel VoLTE feature may not work (have coverage) in some areas
- Some third party camera applications may not fully work with this update

OnePlus 3 & 3T update: OxygenOS 4.5.0
The OxygenOS 4.5.0 OTA update for the OnePlus 3/3T has been announced, offering new features and optimizations for a better overall user experience. As usual, the updates will affect a small number of users initially, before beginning a broader rollout. These are the main feature updates:

OnePlus 3 & 3T update: OxygenOS 4.1.7
The OxygenOS 4.1.7 update is arriving now, and you can download and flash it to your device if you aren't keen on waiting for the OTA to arrive. Be mindful that your phone is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, because this update is a whopping 1.4 GB. The most important thing about this update is that it brings the OnePlus 3 and 3T up to the latest monthly Android security patch, for August 2017, even before the OnePlus 5 gets it.
As always, there are improvements and bug fixes. This time, users are getting enhanced system fluidity and battery optimizations. There are fixes for sound channel errors while recording videos, calls being routed to speakers by third party apps, rendering issues with the Indian Kannada language and App Locker issues with third party apps.
There was one issue, which has been fixed, that was not noted in the change log which has been plaguing OnePlus 3 and 3T users: touch latency. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed it on Twitter:

OnePlus 3 & 3T update: OxygenOS 4.1.6
OxygenOS 4.1.6 is now rolling out over the air. The update is coming to OnePlus 3 and 3T devices on the heels of the OxygenOS 4.1.5 update, which was just withdrawn. The latest update is coming instead of 4.1.5, and is also based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. In fact, the changes brought by this update appear to be the same as the previous version, judging by the change log. So, it might be the case that there was simply an issue with 4.1.5, and 4.1.6 is simply a corrected version of the same update.
The 4.1.6 update will bring updates to network settings for some carriers, the OnePlus community app, and a 'WiFi no internet' indication icon. It will also include the latest monthly Android security patch. There's also been a brand new addition: system push notifications for priority information from OnePlus. And, finally, there have been a host of bug fixes (storage issues with third-party file managers, VoLTE issues with some SIM cards, connection problems with Android Auto) and optimizations (battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, proximity sensor, camera low light focus, expanded screenshots, system stability).

Anyone else experiencing severe heating issues with unusually quick battery drain after updating to Oreo?
The mobile just becomes an iron-box when we run Camera app or even social media apps such as Twitter.
The battery has become worst - drained some 30% (when display-off), within just 3 hours, although all applications were stopped (swiped-off).
If this continues, should look for a way to roll back to Nougat, as the last Nougat update was comparatively safer and trust-worthy.
Still great device, but not best of a buy anymore...many brand name flagships of 2016 now are available for less, and you can see, touch, try them before you buy it.
I think it's tim for a price cut, 1+ if you want to sell more of it.
Hope that OP5 will be as good as this one, and with same price tag...

Well I guess they are still trying to learn and figure it out. Its still a young company and they have already achieved a lot. Of course its not great to see them failing on the software side of things but I guess they simply need more time to refine everything. They have already done a great job with the hardware, so lets give them a chance to perfect the software.
Are you kidding ? The Flagship killer, great quality bla bla bla ? What a joke ! Stop selling this crap. I was thinking to get me one as a secondary phone to play arround with. Thank god I waited. I just ordered a Blackberry Dteck ( quard root problem allready fixed ). It will nicely go with my problem free s7 edge.
All the raving about what a quality phone this is and it's been flaw after flaw after engineering pooch and more. OnePlus is not really competent at this. They've shown it time and again. See also Saygus.
Yea I sadly have to agree. The phone itself is great, but they keep screwing up the software. I really dont get it actually, its there 4th phone (more or less) and they had so much time to learn. Its just so disappointing..
The OP3 sounds like it will definitely give Google's Nexus lines of phones a run for their money. This device is way better for the same price.
Are you serious? I def. have to disagree. Nexus phones have been quite cheap in the past, that kind of changed lately but I'm really curious to see what they have to offer this year. And honestly just in terms of software OP is nowhere close to stock Android...
Well common, Nexus phones have kind of dissapointed last year. Yea the Nexus 6P was/is a great phone, sure, but at 6 freakin inches? Thats a no go for me. And the offering for everyone who doesnt want to use a tablet all the time was quite a joke. Nothing really special and not really a phone thats worth the Nexus branding...
It's completely wrong to say that the device uses only 4GB out of its 6GB, this isn't totally true because the only thing limited here is the amount of apps in background, regardless of how much RAM they'd consume. What this means is that one can actually fill the 6GB (using a heavy game in background, for instance), knowing that the only limitation is up to 20 apps in background.
Reading out what OnePlus has proclaimed, more than 20 apps would drain a considerable amount of energy. Nevertheless there wasn't and there isn't anything wrong with its RAM management.
What I do agree is that we should be able to define how many apps we want stuck in RAM.
